Kilmarnock’s newest venue gets ready to sparkle.

Kenny and Josephine Cheung of Dragon Royale are no strangers to glamorous dining, and they’re about to begin the next phase of their ambitious journey with the opening of Kilmarnock’s first Champagne Bar and Restaurant.

Based in the old Artful Dodger building on the riverside, La Dragon will be their second Ayrshire restaurant, and it’s going to be a big one at 118 covers. Dining areas and a champagne lounge spread across two floors, all artfully decked out in a sumptuous style interior. No expense has been spared to create a truly luxurious experience for both dining and bar guests. The ground floor will host the adult-only Champagne Lounge, where customers can enjoy a selection of fabulous drinks including Champagnes, Prosecco, Cocktails, Perfect-Serve Gins and Craft Beers; while the lower floor offers a selection of dining areas, including a private function room for up to 20 guests. The bar also caters for those that enjoy indulging in afternoon tea, with a choice of traditional sandwich, cake and tea selection or, for those who enjoy, something a little more sparkly.

In the restaurant, fresh Asian cuisine, from an a la carte and table d’hôte menus, lovingly prepared by chef Jason, will be the main draws, alongside a Chinese Tapas style and two or three course lunch menus. Regular customers of Dragon Royale won’t be disappointed; chef Jason will continue to serve the classics while the new menu includes some new specials to delight.

The private dining room, with space for up to 20, is the ideal location to host special events and the luscious décor won’t fail to impress.

“This was my dream” says Kenny. “Dragon Royale has been a huge success for us, but we listened to our customers who wanted somewhere to enjoy a drink or two after their meal. When we discovered the Dodger building was under development and available, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to turn my dream into reality.”

“We are genuinely thrilled with how the project has tuned out – it’s even better than we imagined. We can’t wait to launch and welcome both old and new customers alike”
